The VEJA x Homecore sandal is the story of a friendship between Alexandre, the Homecore founder, and Sébastien & Ghislain,
VEJA co-founders.

They met in 2005, at the beginning of VEJA, at the Who’s Next trade show. At the end of a hard day, both VEJA founders were at their booth, relaxing after having seen and talked to hundreds of people
in one day.

They were smoking a cigarette when a tall, bald guy came over, yelling: “You jerks! You are defending the environment with your project, I heard you are doing amazing things in Brazil, but you are SMOKING CIGARETTES!!! Shame on you!”

Both VEJA founders laughed and welcomed this strange visitor to their booth to talk about cigarettes, organic cotton, and the environment;
it was the first day of their friendship with Alex. Since then, they have lived numerous adventures together all over the world.

20 years in, they wanted to do something together. And then it came: they designed VEJA’s first sandal.
