Suede is the back of leather that is sanded down to achieve a soft and supple appearance. It comes from farms in Rio Grande do Sul and is tanned in Brazil without the use of hazardous or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses compliant dyes and ensures reasonable water consumption during the tanning process. This suede is then coated with water-repellent oils without PFCs (chemical compounds) to protect the sneakers from light rain.
